Characters, Group One : Sculpture solo exhibition

Jung Hyun Gallery is delighted to announce its inaugural exhibition, "CHARACTERS, GROUP ONE," showcasing the exceptional works of acclaimed Polish sculptor Konrad Ziółkowski (b.1981). The exhibition will run from December 10, 2022, to January 14, 2023, marking a significant milestone as the first exhibition hosted by Jung Hyun Gallery, newly established in Poland by Korean representative Shin-Jae Park.

Located in Wrocław, Poland, Jung Hyun Gallery opens its doors with a commemorative exhibition featuring the thought-provoking sculptures of Konrad Ziółkowski. Konrad is celebrated for his ability to capture the intersection of time and space through the mediums of stone and bronze.

This exhibition is particularly noteworthy as it represents a pivotal shift in Konrad's artistic journey. Moving away from traditional stone carving, he now explores the creative possibilities of bronze. Unlike stone, which is shaped by removal, bronze allows the creation of forms from nothing, offering a unique expression of the artist's vision.

Konrad's use of rusted bronze embodies the passage of time, suggesting that materials such as stone and metal possess a power that transcends the ephemeral nature of human life. His sculptures, all depicting human figures, are given names, imbuing them with a sense of life and personality.

The figures created by Konrad have a distinct visual appeal, often resembling characters from animation or fantasy films. Notably, some of his works are part of the collection of a company associated with the production of Marvel movies, including iconic titles like "Avengers" and "Iron Man." Each sculpture exudes individuality, making viewers feel as if they are encountering living characters.

Jung Hyun Gallery invites art enthusiasts and the general public to experience Konrad Ziółkowski's imaginative world, where human forms exist both within and beyond reality. Join us in celebrating this inaugural exhibition and explore the compelling artistry that defines Konrad's unique perspective.
